This Chain O' Lakes Cottage is our Ideal Fourth of July Retreat

Fourth of July cabin in Waupaca Chain O’ Lakes

A lakeside cottage in the woods is about as perfect a Fourth of July setting as they come. Our Cottage on Beasley Lake in Waupaca, WI was made for warm summer celebrations. Days are filled with boat rides and popsicles while the nighttime brings sparklers and s’mores. It’s the place of first swims, stories by the bonfire and family reuniting around the table. While gatherings are a little smaller this year, we’re still able to fill every corner of our home with memories and celebrate moments big and small.

Our Cottage on Beasley Lake has been our retreat in the summertime since we found the home. As important as aesthetic design is for us, creating homes that are inviting to loved ones and encourage play and growth for our kids means even more. The cottage balances neutral linens and soft tones with warm materials like wood and wicker throughout. Each room’s layout is centered on the idea of togetherness with space for us all to gather. As with all of our homes, we bring in a balance of modern furnishings with antique accents. In renovating our cottage, it was especially important for us to highlight its historic construction and rustic location.

As carefully designed as the home’s interior was, its exterior spaces are where summertime happens. Our screened-in porch overlooks the spacious yard and lakefront view. It’s where we can watch our kids run and play, sip coffee before anyone else wakes up in the mornings and enjoy family meals accompanied by warm summer air. The yard houses a fire pit with plenty of space for family and friends as well as docks for boating and swimming.

While we reserve the Cottage at Beasley Lake for our family throughout the majority of summer, we invite guests to experience our other homes in Waupaca that encourage the same feelings celebration and togetherness. All of these homes have been the destinations for everything from cannon ball contests and intimate weddings to family staycations. We hope you’ll join us in the years to come to start creating your own summertime traditions.
